The D’Andrea Brothers submitted their new zero-trans-fat energy bar formulation for formal MRE evaluation in 2005. It was accepted as meeting MRE standards. And then it won a bunch of Warfighter field tests. But the zero-trans-fat solution has never been put into an MRE, while trans fat bars continue to be supplied to troops in MREs.
